No Shampoo - What to expect

I'm pretty late on the no shampooing train, but for those who are totally new to this as well, here is what it is, and what to expect.

NO SHAMPOO
It means you don't use shampoo. At all. On your hair.
That's about it. You still wash it with water, and sometimes with home remedy stuff (in which you'll become lazy, so don't expect to shake up a DIY shampoo too often).
Why? Because using shampoo dry out your scalp, hence your scalp may feel really oily, or really dry. Shampoo also ruins your hair's health, as it strips down the oils, hence why you could have split ends even if you don't use your blow drier every day.
Not using shampoo means you'll have softer hair which is stronger and your scalp will be in a normal condition. Also, it'll save you a couple hundred of dollars a year :D

HOW
You should start by just stopping using shampoo. I recommend giving your hair a last good shampoo,  and then stopping immediately. Instead, use a vinegar and water rinse, where you combine 1 or 2 teaspoons of vinegar with a cup of water, and use that as shampoo instead. OR, I like 1 or 2 tablespoons of bicarb soda with water. It'll help get rid of dirt, but keeping the oils in.

WHAT TO EXPECT
For the first two weeks (or even a bit more), you're hair will be greasy. Don't fret, you can use rice flour as a dry shampoo (beware that it could get a bit white if you use too much ;) ) if you are needing to go without oily hair for a day or too. If your hair goes a bit frizzy, that's natural as well. Just brush it (if you have long hair), with a good wide tooth comb every hair to spread the natural oils down from your scalp to your ends.

But, your hair will become normal again after your greasy period. Actually, it's better than normal. It's softer, smells better, thicker and it'll solve a lot of problems for your hair and scalp. All you'll need to do is to shower often enough, and wash your hair with a bit of water every few days.

best of luck
